Established to foster global talent, the Sejong University Korean Language Center (KLC) provides systematic and professional Korean language training to international students. Located in the heart of Seoul (Gwangjin-gu), right next to the beautiful Children's Grand Park, the center offers an ideal learning environment with cutting-edge university facilities and a highly accessible subway connection (Line 7).
Curriculum & Academic Structure
The Regular Program runs on a 4-semester-per-year system (Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter). Each semester lasts for 10 weeks, totaling 200 hours of intensive study.
- Levels 1 to 2 (Beginner): Focuses on basic survival Korean, everyday conversation, pronunciation, and fundamental grammar.
- Levels 3 to 4 (Intermediate): Develops fluency in social situations, expression of thoughts on familiar topics, and core grammar for daily life in Korea.
- Levels 5 to 6 (Advanced): Focuses on academic, professional, and abstract topics, preparing students for university lectures and professional work environments.
Features & Cultural Programs
- TOPIK Special Classes: In-depth preparation lectures are offered to help students achieve high TOPIK scores, which are essential for university admissions.
- Cultural Activities: Every semester, the center organizes cultural excursions including historical site visits, traditional pottery making, K-Pop dance classes, and Taekwondo experiences.
- Language Exchange Partner Program: KLC matches international students with Korean undergraduate students at Sejong University to promote natural communication and peer-to-peer mentoring.
Accommodation & Campus Facilities
International language students are eligible to apply for the modern on-campus Sejong University Happy Dormitory. The dormitory features double rooms equipped with desks, wardrobes, air conditioning, and high-speed Wi-Fi. Common facilities include laundry rooms, study lounges, a fitness center, and a convenience store.
Pathway to Degree Programs
Students who successfully complete Level 4 or higher at the Sejong University Korean Language Center are eligible for admission into Sejong University's undergraduate programs. Furthermore, the university offers generous tuition waiver scholarships (up to 100%) for students transitioning from the language center to undergraduate or graduate programs based on their TOPIK proficiency.
